AT THE FRONT DOOR
Put your coat on without the rush.
The coat, the keys and the leash can all announce a walk. Practise one of those moments while there’s no hurry to leave.
- In a quiet room, pick up your coat and reward a brief pause with four paws on the floor.
- Put the coat down again. Keep the movement small enough that your dog can stay comfortable.
- Try putting one arm into a sleeve. Reward the pause and finish before adding the keys or leash.
